About our guides

How we check our pages

Every fact on a Wren Family guide comes from an official source, and every page lists those sources and the date it was last checked.

Where the facts come from

  • The Family Procedure Rules 2010 and their practice directions, which set out how family cases run.
  • The official forms and their guidance notes on GOV.UK, in the edition linked on each page.
  • Court fees as published by HM Courts and Tribunals Service.

We keep a rulebook of the procedural rules our guides rely on, each tied to its rule number and source link. When a page states a deadline, a fee or a step, it links to the rule it comes from.

What we do not do

  • We do not give advice about your own case. Our pages are legal information, not legal advice.
  • We never say a document is approved by a court. Only the court decides what it accepts.
  • Wren Family never files, serves or signs anything for you.
  • We do not copy official forms. We explain them in plain words and link to the original.

Keeping pages current

HM Courts and Tribunals Service updates forms and fees several times a year. When a form edition, a fee or a rule changes, we update the pages that rely on it and change the date at the foot of the page.

If you need advice

For advice on your own situation, speak to a solicitor, a barrister or an advice service. If you are in danger, call 999. Help with court fees may be available if you are on a low income.
